Panels

  • On desktop, drag a panel tab to move or group it. Drag a divider to resize.
  • Use × to hide a panel; restore it from Panels. The layout is saved in this browser.
  • The Values panel starts with controller speed, input and directional current, input power, voltage, and motor/FET temperatures enabled where available. Hover or focus a value to see its minimum and maximum in the selected timeline range. Click a row, source header, or individual value to show or hide its graph trace; click a color to choose from the palette. Its ⋯ menu can enable all rows and sources, disable all rows, hide disabled rows, show row-reorder handles, or restore defaults. The footer switches remove a source from both Values and the timeline; restoring it also restores its previous header graph state. GPS readings appear under the first visible source with their GPS labels. Controller speed and trip distance use the saved wheel settings. GPS position stays on the route map.
  • Stats starts as a tab behind Values and summarizes the full log. Wheel distance and average speed use the saved drivetrain settings; GNSS distance uses accepted fixes. Energy and charge totals integrate logged controller input power and current. A dash means the source data is unavailable.
  • Settings accepts wheel diameter, motor pole pairs, and pulley tooth counts to calculate controller speed from ERPM. The recorder Speed field is not used by Studio because its scaling can be wrong on the Express. GPS speed is shown separately when a valid fix was recorded.
  • The map starts hidden without GPS data, but you can open the empty map manually. Its ⋯ menu exports a GPX track from either the selected timeline range or the full route.
  • The video panel starts hidden, but you can show it from Panels or select Video Mapping before opening a video.
  • Open Log opens a new CSV or one of up to 10 recent logs saved in this browser. Files are never uploaded.
  • Click the LogSpy logo to reload Studio and clear the current log and video. You will be asked to confirm if either is open.
  • Layouts selects a preset or a named custom arrangement. Reset restores the selected layout, including its panel sizes. Video Mapping shows an empty video panel until you open a file.
  • On narrow screens, panels stack without drag or resize.

Timeline & map

  • Click or drag the values plot to seek. Scroll vertically over the plot to zoom, or horizontally to seek; continued seeking at an edge moves the window. Long logs cap swipe speed for precision. The Timeline panel header shows the selected time range; its ⋯ menu resets the view, switches between elapsed and local clock time when the log has a date, and adjusts graph row height. Stats shows the capture start and clock source; the ruler and playhead use the selected time display. Acceleration (G) is a regular Values row and graph band when X/Y/Z acceleration is recorded.
  • The selected-values plot follows the Values panel selection. Each data type has its own band; controller traces within that band share a scale. Labels show the data type and unit without numeric ranges.
  • The compact full-log navigator follows the first enabled Values graph. Click or drag its playhead to seek, drag the highlighted window to pan, drag either edge to resize it, or drag outside it to select a new window. Scroll vertically to zoom or horizontally to seek, as on the main graph. Amber ticks mark jump candidates. The time readout shows the current position and full log duration.
  • The map fits GPS points in the selected window. Click a route to seek; chevrons show recorded travel direction, not board yaw.
  • Dark loads by default. Light offers a light map. 3D uses OpenFreeMap's tilted Liberty view with raised buildings at close zoom levels. Satellite uses Esri imagery. Map tiles for the viewed area load from these services; the CSV stays local.

Board & video

  • Drag the board view to orbit, scroll to zoom, and use the house button to restore your saved camera view. The panel header's ⋯ menu can save or reset Home.
  • The axes widget turns with the board: P is pitch (purple), Y is yaw (gold), and R is roll (coral). Click a letter to view the board along that axis. Click a value in the angle overlay to turn that axis on or off for the 3D board; logged values and the timeline stay visible. Show or hide either overlay from the Orientation menu.
  • Show floor hides or restores the floor and grid. Forward direction shows the assumed front. Enhanced materials changes only appearance. Experimental level axles is off by default: the current model lacks separate baseplates, hangers, and kingpin pivots, so this older visual trial cannot show real steering or truck articulation. Animate wheels from speed spins the model wheels using saved drivetrain settings and controller RPM, with GPS speed as a fallback. These controls are in the Orientation menu.
  • Export orientation video encodes the board locally as a silent 30 fps WebM with exact frame times. Choose the full log, selected timeline range, or the overlapping part of an uploaded video; the video choice follows its Offset and Rate settings. Camera views stay fixed while the board moves. Green or magenta backgrounds work for chroma keying; transparent VP9 WebM carries alpha, though editor support varies. The floor, grid, angle values, and axes widget are excluded from exports. Exports over two minutes use a browser save dialog to write directly to disk.
  • Swap and sign controls change displayed axes only; they never rewrite the CSV or calibrate the IMU.
  • Video auto alignment uses movie metadata and a UTC clock marker in newer CSVs. Older logs can use a dated CSV filename, assumed UTC. The timeline focuses the clip and marks its start and end in blue. Check a visible event, then adjust Offset and Rate as needed; the markers move with those adjustments.
  • Open or change the local video from the Video panel.
  • Jump Analysis is a separate panel. Selecting a candidate focuses its time in the Timeline. Candidates mark low-G to impact signals, not confirmed airtime or jump height.

Studio settings

Calculate wheel speed from logged motor ERPM. The recorder Speed column uses the Express device configuration and may be incorrectly scaled.

Wheel speed

Each controller’s VESC drivetrain settings load from LogSpy CSV metadata. Select a controller to adjust its ratio; older CSVs can use saved manual values.

Edit details · exact pulley teeth

VESC stores the ratio, not the individual tooth counts. Entering both tooth counts calculates the ratio. Motor pole pairs are half the full pole count. GPS Speed remains independent.
